About

Cathy Gilbert lives in Central Illinois where she teaches at Heartland Community College and writes poetry and non-fiction. She was awarded a sabbatical to conduct research by volunteering in the Fossil Lab of the George C. Page Museum in downtown Los Angeles.  There, she cleaned and sorted fossils and microfossils from the La Brea Tar Pits. She explored her experiences in poems and essays.  For links to some of her writing, please see the “Published Work” page.
